Chapter Four
I woke with a jerk, rolling to my back and gasping. I knew it was the nightmare that woke me, but I couldn’t for the life of me remember what it was. Probably something from that damn military ship. Fortunately, most of those faded with time. I sat up and yawned. My nightmares tended to drift toward the sexy gray-skinned captain I kissed, who later shot Ale. I glanced to the man in question. Ale was lying on his back with his arm thrown over his eyes. His body was relaxed, even his cock hung flaccid over his balls. Mine was at half erection from the view. I glanced to my left expecting Rei but the bed was empty. I touched the soft indent in the pillow and it came away warm. He’d recently left. Maybe that’s what woke me, his leaving. I shimmied quietly to the side of the bed and stood. It’s funny how suddenly I couldn’t sleep without my men next to me. They were like a cocoon of warmth and safety and … dicks. I padded on bare feet toward the closed door. Still naked, my erection bobbed slightly as I walked to the narrow stairs. It led to the cozy-sized cockpit. Climbing the stairs had my shaft bouncing against my thigh. It stiffened faster. I wondered if Rei was still nude. One of these days, I was going to suck his dick while he was in that chair. Maybe even when he was flying us. The thought made me smile as I reached the top of the landing. “Rei, I was just thinking about su…”
“Hello, Vern.”
This was a dream. This was a nightmare. It wasn’t real. I stared into those familiar gray eyes that haunted me. “You … you’re dead,” I muttered. Captain Deslyn was standing in the cockpit of our new ship. His gray skin looked dull in the soft light. Half his face was darker, almost charred looking. That same side had no hair, the black locks on his scalp replaced by cracked, dry skin. His left eye was a white orb with no eyelid. It took me a moment, I think it was shock, but I saw Rei before the captain with a knife to his throat. All the air in my lungs froze at the sight of that shiny blade pressed haphazardly against Rei’s flesh.
“Did you think we didn’t have a plan to escape?” The captain dug his fingers into Rei’s scalp, pulling at his blond hair. “After you all shot me—five times—I was slower to get to our stealth ship. It cost me time I didn’t have.” After we inadvertently rescued the commander, Captain Deslyn and his terrorists came after us. We managed to shot him and haul our asses off his ship. Only moments later, the Central Planet fleet fired missiles and, I thought, they destroyed this man.
Rei winced, gritting his teeth together.
“I spent too much time in space … lost my eye … my hair. My flesh is…” He hissed out a breath.
